Events and festivals in Baden-Württemberg on October 24 and 25, 2026 range from village fairs to a sled dog race. Tengen's 736th Schätzele-Markt expects more than 100,000 visitors in the Hegau.
The fair in Tengen and the sled dog race in Todtmoos run side by side on Saturday and Sunday. The Schätzele-Markt opens on Friday, October 23, 2026, on the market square of Tengen and takes over the town until Monday, October 26.
The 736th Schätzele-Markt in Tengen
The market square, the Hauptstraße and the festival meadow belong to the Schätzele-Markt, one of the oldest folk festivals in southern Germany: the first written record dates from around 1290, and the market goes back to the time when the counts of Tengen had their seat in the town.
The Krämermarkt, with hundreds of vendors, opens on Saturday, 24.10.2026, and on Sunday, each day from 9 am. Alongside it come a funfair with carousels and roller coasters and a trade show of businesses from Tengen and the surrounding area. A car show stands in front of the town hall. Live bands play in the festival tent, and there is dancing in the evening.
Saturday afternoon belongs to the Business-Rally with prominent speakers from business and politics. The town of Tengen organises the market together with the trade association and the town band. Admission to the fair is free, while the funfair and the trade show charge per attraction.

The Backnanger Gänsemarkt gathers over 80 specialist shops and market stalls around the goose fountain, with action stages and live music, painted wooden geese in the shop windows, and the shops open from 1 to 6 pm. Children get carousels and face painting. The Schorndorfer Stadtmarkt runs from 11 am to 5 pm under the motto “Markt für Feines und Schönes” on the market square and in the pedestrian zone of the half-timbered old town, and the shops open from noon to 5 pm.
In the Alter Kurpark of Todtmoos in the southern Black Forest, the first of two race days at the Waldhaus-Wehra-Trail starts on 24.10.26. Up to 60 teams with more than 400 dogs compete on both days from 9 am to 4 pm on a course of about 2.9 kilometres. It is the 4th edition, with canicross, scooter, bike and cart teams. At the pre-starts, visitors can watch the teams harness their dogs. Most teams come from Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium and the Czech Republic. A hut village offers regional specialities, and admission is free.

In Tübingen the final concerts of the 28th Jazz- und Klassik-Tage take place, about 60 concerts in over 30 venues of the old town, from the Stiftskirche to the Rittersaal of Hohentübingen castle, focused on the dialogue between visual art and music.
Tens of thousands of chrysanthemums transform the old town of Lahr from Saturday. The 29th Chrysanthema runs under the motto “Farbenfrohe Glücksmomente!” and shows flower sculptures on the Marktplatz and Rathausplatz and in old-town gardens, with concerts and a crafts market. It runs until November 8, and admission is free.
The clocks go back overnight on Sunday, from 3 am to 2 am, as summer time ends.
