About Baiersbronn Gourmet Festival

Baiersbronn — the German star capital with the highest density of Michelin stars per inhabitant — celebrates the premiere of its Gourmet Festival in 2026. From October 19 to 24, 2026, a culinary week awaits you with star menus, themed evenings, cooking classes, and encounters with the star chefs of the Black Forest. The crowning finale is the Enjoyment Fair on Sunday, October 25, 2026 — a gourmet fair with regional and international producers, tastings, a stage program, and show cooking. Baiersbronn Touristik is thus bundling the unique star potential of the Black Forest town into its own festival brand — a date for gourmets that will be firmly established in the South German enjoyment calendar from 2026 onwards.

Premiere — Baiersbronn Gourmet Festival 2026

In 2026, a new gourmet festival in the Black Forest will open its doors: The Baiersbronn Gourmet Festival will take place for the first time from October 19 to 24, 2026 — a week culminating in the Enjoyment Fair on October 25, 2026. The organizer is Baiersbronn Touristik in the Freudenstadt district (state of Baden-Württemberg).

Baiersbronn — Germany's Star Capital

What makes Baiersbronn (around 14,000 inhabitants) a world gourmet address: The small town at the entrance to the Black Forest National Park has the highest density of Michelin stars per inhabitant in all of Germany. Top restaurants such as Schloss Burg an der Lahn, the Restaurant Schwarzwaldstube (historically 3 stars), the Bareiss with Restaurant Bareiss (3 stars) and Restaurant Kaminstube, and the Schlossberg are located here — the density of star chefs is unique worldwide for such a small community. The Gourmet Festival leverages this culinary heritage for a new festival format.

A Week of Culinary Encounters

From October 19 to 24, 2026, the festival will offer a curated selection of culinary experiences in Baiersbronn's star restaurants and hospitality businesses:

  • Themed evenings in the top restaurants — from classic Swabian cuisine to modern Black Forest interpretations
  • Cooking classes with the star chefs — pasta workshops, game cooking seminars, patisserie classes
  • Sommelier tastings with selected wines from Baden, Württemberg, and international regions
  • Walking tastings through the Tonbach Valley with stops at local producers
  • Meet the Chef — encounters and conversations with Baiersbronn's star chefs

Enjoyment Fair on October 25, 2026

The crowning finale is the Enjoyment Fair on Sunday, October 25, 2026 — a gourmet fair in Baiersbronn featuring:

  • Regional producers from the Black Forest (dairies, breweries, distilleries, apiaries)
  • International gourmet exhibitors
  • Tasting stations with wine, beer, Black Forest ham, cheese, pralines
  • Show cooking on a live stage with Baiersbronn's star chefs
  • Stage program with talks, enjoyment workshops, and live music

Baiersbronn — Hiking, Wellness, Star Cuisine

Baiersbronn is located at the entrance to the Black Forest National Park and, with its seven valleys (Murgtal, Tonbachtal, Schönmünztal, Buhlbachtal, Mitteltal, Reichenbachtal, Klosterreichenbach), is a paradise for hiking and wellness. Visitors to the Gourmet Festival can perfectly combine it with hiking tours, spa visits, and a stay in one of the renowned hotels (Bareiss, Traube Tonbach, Sackmann).
