30th anniversary of Germany's largest open-air rave festival at the former US missile base Pydna
Nature One is one of Europe's largest open-air rave festivals and celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026. From July 30th to August 2nd, 2026, the former US atomic missile base Pydna near Kastellaun in the Hunsrück region will be transformed into an electronic dance world of superlatives.
Over 60,000 visitors from all over the world are expected for four days and three nights. On 20 floors, over 350 artists will present the entire spectrum of electronic music — from Techno and House to Trance and Hardstyle. Paul Kalkbrenner, Fatboy Slim, and numerous top acts from the international scene are on the lineup.
Nature One is a legend of the European rave scene. Since its first edition in 1995, the festival at the former US Pydna missile base near Kastellaun in the Hunsrück has developed into one of Europe's largest and most important open-air rave festivals. In 2026, it celebrates its 30th anniversary — a historic occasion for Germany's electronic music scene.
The Pydna missile base is a venue with an unusual history. During the Cold War, a US Pershing II atomic missile station was stationed here. After the end of the Cold War in 1992, the base was abandoned; since 1995, the former military site has been used as a festival ground. The bunkers, hangars, watchtowers, and extensive paved areas form an industrial-dystopian backdrop that creates a unique symbiosis with the futuristic character of electronic music.
The festival spans four days and three nights — from Thursday to Sunday — offering a continuous, round-the-clock program. With over 60,000 expected visitors from Germany, across Europe, and worldwide, Nature One is among the largest festivals of its kind. Most visitors stay in tents or campers on the designated camping areas around the grounds and in the town of Kastellaun.
The musical offering is overwhelming: Over 350 artists perform on 20 floors, each representing different subgenres of electronic music. Classic main stages like the "Open Air Floor" and the "Century Circus" stand alongside themed bunker floors for Hardstyle, Trance, Techno, House, Drum'n'Bass, Goa, Tech-House, and other styles. This diversity allows every visitor to intensely experience their preferred subgenre — or to navigate the entire spectrum of electronic music.
The 2026 lineup includes internationally acclaimed acts such as Paul Kalkbrenner, one of the most influential German Techno and House producers, and Fatboy Slim, the British Big Beat legend. In addition, there are numerous other top acts from the Techno, House, and Trance scenes — from Nina Kraviz and Charlotte de Witte to Adam Beyer and Marco Carola, and Headhunterz, Brennan Heart, and Coone.
Beyond the music, the festival offers a comprehensive experience program: art installations, light shows with lasers and pyrotechnics, themed areas, gastronomic offerings, merchandise, and a camping experience that is as important to many visitors as the music itself.
