fluctoplasma, a festival across eleven venues
fluctoplasma has existed as a decentralised Hamburg festival since 2020 and has no central site, playing instead eleven venues between St. Pauli, Eimsbüttel and the city centre in a multi-day circuit whose last two of four days fall on Saturday, October 24, 2026 and Sunday, October 25.
The 2026 venues include the Bismarck monument by the harbour, the Central Library at Hühnerposten, the MARKK, the Kölibri next to the GWA St. Pauli, the F-Pavillon at the LICHTHOF, the RecGround Studio, the Theater Altes Heizkraftwerk, TONALi and the Westwerk.
The theme is “humanity in (dis)solution”. It points to the dissolution of traditional images of humanity as much as to the dissolution of solidarity in an increasingly fragmented society, and the programme brings dance, performance, experimental music, lecture-performances, installations, discussion rounds and film screenings.
Tickets follow a pay-what-you-want model between €25 reduced and €60 solidarity rate, and an awareness team in pink vests is on site.
Children under 14 get in free.
A market and a run in the Wandsbek district
On October 24, Volksdorf's market square hosts the Volksdorfer Herbstmarkt, which runs from October 23 to 25. Fairground rides, regional stalls, crafts and street food share the square, the Wandsbek district office organises the market with free entry, and the U1 stops at Volksdorf, where the square sits right by the station.
The Alstertallauf on Sunday, October 25, is Hamburg's traditional autumn community run along the upper Alster trail between Rahlstedt, Meiendorf and the Alstertal. Options are a half marathon, 10 km and 4 km, plus a 1.5 km beginners' run, on a flat course. The organiser is the Hamburger Turnerbund of 1862. The S1 and S11 run to Rahlstedt or Wohldorf.
Daylight saving time ends overnight from Saturday to Sunday: at 3 a.m. the clocks go back to 2 a.m.
