10th edition of the traditional Lasser Brewery event with Bavarian atmosphere in the Markgräflerland
Lörrach is located in the southern tri-border area – Germany, Switzerland, France – in the Markgräflerland, a scenically diverse region between the Rhine plain, Black Forest slopes, and Wiesental valleys. Privatbrauerei Lasser has been based in Lörrach for over 175 years and is one of the most traditional Baden breweries – known for its Pils, Helles, Märzen, and seasonal specialty beers. The Brauer-Silvester is the brewery's most important in-house event: a mix of tradition, beer culture, and festive entertainment.
The 2026 edition is the 10th edition since its first staging in 2017 and will take place on Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26, 2026 on the premises of Privatbrauerei Lasser. Both evenings feature an identical program concept:
„Die Wilderer" is a six-member band from Bavaria that has musically supported Brauer-Silvester for years. Known for their performances in Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and the USA, they combine traditional Bavarian folk music with party Schlager, cover versions, and their own songs. Their stage show is designed for maximum atmosphere — sing-along hits, communal dance interludes, ironic folk music parodies. The right choice for an Oktoberfest format in Lörrach, Baden.
The Lasser Brauer-Silvester plays with a touch of cultural irony: Lörrach is in Baden, not Bavaria — yet Bavarian festival culture (Dirndl, Lederhosen, roast pork, Oktoberfest hits) also works in the Markgräflerland. The Brauer-Silvester is explicitly an Oktoberfest variant in Lörrach, but with its own character: here, Bavarian tradition and Baden coziness collide, the beer is not Munich Helles, but Lasser Pils, and the cuisine combines Bavarian snacks with Markgräfler specialties.
The name „Brauer-Silvester" (Brewer's New Year's Eve) refers to a time when the brewery year ended in September, not on December 31. Before the invention of industrial refrigeration in the 19th century, breweries could only brew during the cold months (from Michaelmas, September 29, to St. George's Day, April 23) — the beer would spoil in summer. Breweries therefore produced particularly strong beers in early autumn (Märzen, Bock), which could be stored in deep rock cellars over the summer. With the construction of industrial cooling in the mid-19th century, this tradition became obsolete, but the end of the brewery year remained as the end of the fiscal year in September in many breweries — and Brauer-Silvester is the festive celebration of this special calendar date.
The tenth edition of Brauer-Silvester since 2017 will celebrate its anniversary with a two-day program highlight. Both evenings — Friday and Saturday — follow the same concept: Admission from 6 PM, barrel tapping ceremony to open, stage program starts around 7 PM with "Die Wilderer — das bayerische Original", Bavarian-Baden cuisine, Lasser beers on tap.
The empty goods hall of Privatbrauerei Lasser will be festively decorated and transformed into the "Lasser-Stadl" — Bavarian atmosphere right in the Baden brewery. Those who come in traditional costume (Dirndl, Lederhosen) will fit in perfectly and contribute to the atmosphere.
After the official program ends, the party continues at the after-party in Heimathafen Lörrach — the stamp at the entrance grants re-entry.
Dirndl and Lederhosen are explicitly welcome — those wearing traditional costume shape the atmosphere. Festive clothing without traditional costume is also welcome.
Seated ticket: €30 — fixed seat reservation in the Stadl. Strolling ticket: €20 — admission without a reserved seat, with standing room at the bar and dance floor. Food and additional drinks are paid for separately on site. Advance sales started on February 5, 2026, 5 PM via brauersilvester.de and Reservix. After-party admission is free with a stamp.
By car: A98 exit Lörrach Mitte, then to the brewery. By train: Lörrach station, then bus or walk (15 min.) to the brewery. By tram (Basel): trinational tram from Basel — a convenient option for Swiss guests.
Advance sales started on February 5, 2026, at 5 PM. Tickets via brauersilvester.de and Reservix. Seated ticket: €30. Strolling ticket: €20. Seat reservation strongly recommended — previous years were sold out.
Come in traditional costume — Dirndl and Lederhosen are explicitly welcome and shape the atmosphere. If you don't have your own traditional outfit: wear something festive that fits the Bavarian mood. The after-party at Heimathafen Lörrach is usually an extension of the evening — don't forget your stamp at the entrance. If needed: arrange taxi service or use the train, do not drive yourself.
Hotels in Lörrach, Weil am Rhein, Basel (CH), or in the southern Black Forest (Kandern, Müllheim). The brewery is well connected within the city.
