Pro Lörrach Celebrates 50 Years

The association Pro Lörrach e.V. is the marketing and location initiative of the city of Lörrach in the Lörrach district (AGS 08336), founded in 1976 — exactly 50 years ago. Today, Pro Lörrach has over 200 member companies from retail, gastronomy, and services in Lörrach's city center. For the 2026 anniversary, the Spring Festival "Lörrach swings" on the Old Market Square will be celebrated with particular festivity.

Date and Program Structure

The festival runs on Saturday, April 25, and Sunday, April 26, 2026:

• Saturday — 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM: Main festival day with live music, dance performances, appearances by partner cities, and shopping promotions by Pro Lörrach member businesses
• Sunday — 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM: shortened festival day with shopping Sunday — the city center shops will be open, the festival on the market square runs in parallel

Guests from Five Partner Cities

A special feature of the anniversary: Lörrach's five partner cities will be present with delegations and market stalls. Each partner city will present its typical specialties and culture:

• Sens (France, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté) — French cheeses, wine, bread
• Chester (United Kingdom, North West England) — British specialties, tea, whisky
• Edirne (Turkey, Marmara Region) — Turkish sweets, tea, handicrafts
• Meerane (Saxony) — Saxon specialties, Christmas stollen, beer
• Village-Neuf (France, Alsace, direct neighbor of Lörrach) — Alsatian wine, Flammkuchen, Choucroute

The partner city stalls will create a special international atmosphere — Lörrach sees itself as a city in the border triangle (D / F / CH), and the Spring Festival makes this character visible.

"Lörrach swings" — Music, Dance, and Shopping

The musical program lives up to the festival title "Lörrach swings": Jazz, Swing, Big Band, and Soul bands will play on the stage at the market square. Dance performances by local schools, participatory dance workshops for the audience. In parallel, the shops will open their doors — many boutiques, bookstores, stationery shops, and fashion houses will have special promotions on shopping Sunday.

One of Southern Baden's Oldest Spring Festivals

The Pro Lörrach Spring Festival has existed since the association's founding years (1976) and is therefore one of Southern Baden's oldest spring festivals. It traditionally marks the beginning of the outdoor season in the Southern Baden city — cafés put their tables on the streets, the market square becomes the social center, and spring blossoms are visible in the cityscape. Anyone wishing to visit Lörrach in spring should plan this weekend.
