Fanfare Gertrude is one of the defining bands of this scene and celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2026 — the occasion for the BRASS ODYSSEY festival.
Three Days Between Concert and Parade
The festival runs over the Whitsun weekend from May 22nd to 24th, 2026. At various Berlin venues, there will be concerts from 5 PM to 10 PM, plus parades through the city center, crossover concerts with guest brass bands from Germany and Europe, and workshops for brass players. The style is deliberately over-the-top: loud, glittering, physical, with confetti and streamers as trademarks.
Berlin Brass Scene
In addition to Fanfare Gertrude, the annual Berlin Brass Festival (mid-June 2026 during Fête de la Musique) shapes the brass year. BRASS ODYSSEY is the preceding kick-off event — three weeks before the Berlin Brass Festival, the first major brass event in Berlin takes place here for Fanfare Gertrude's 10th anniversary.
