Three days of celebration for the 60th anniversary of the Franconian winery Baldauf in Ramsthal
In 2026, Weingut Baldauf in Ramsthal looks back on 60 years of family viticulture. Founded in 1966 by Karl-Heinz and Thekla Baldauf, son Gerald Baldauf took over the business in 1990. Since 1996, brothers Gerald and Ralf Baldauf have managed the winery together. The estate is one of the traditional family wineries in the Franconian wine village of Ramsthal and cultivates classic Franconian grape varieties such as Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus, and Domina, as well as more modern lines.
For its milestone anniversary, the winery is opening its courtyard and forecourt at Hauptstraße 42 from June 13th to 15th, 2026, for a three-day Hoffest. The festival will be characterized by a blend of classic Franconian 'Heckenwirtschaft' charm and festive anniversary spirit. Serving will be the Baldauf estate wines – Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, Domina, Rosé wine, along with Franconian Secco and summer cocktails.
The Hoffest will be accompanied by Franconian food offerings: Schäufele (pork shoulder), Bratwurst (fried sausage), Schweinebraten (roast pork), Franconian potato salad, hearty Vesper (snack) and salad platters, served directly from the winery. The Baldauf family and their staff will personally take care of hospitality and service – a classic Franconian Hoffest with a personal touch.
Ramsthal is a municipality with about 1,000 inhabitants in the district of Bad Kissingen in Lower Franconia (state of Bavaria). The village is located in the idyllic Saale valley, north of Bad Kissingen, nestled between vineyards, rolling hills, and the Bavarian Rhön. Ramsthal belongs to the Franconia wine region and is one of the few wine villages in the Saale-Tal with a significant winemaking tradition – a particularly northern Franconian wine-growing region with its own distinct character.
A Hoffest for a 60th anniversary has its own special character: family, regular customers, friends, and neighbors celebrate half a century of viticulture together. Those who want to get to know Franconian viticulture and its family businesses in a special atmosphere will have the opportunity in Ramsthal in early June 2026.
From Saturday, June 13th, to Monday, June 15th, Weingut Baldauf will be bustling with festival activity. The gates open daily in the late morning, with festivities lasting into the evening. Wine tastings of Baldauf's own estate wines at several stands, Franconian specialties from the Hofküche (courtyard kitchen), cocktail bar with Secco variations.
Free admission. Wine, Secco, cocktails, and food at usual Hoffest prices directly at the winery stand. Payment by cash or card (if available).
