From a regulars' table idea to a fixed date

The Dorfplatzfest of the FFW Oerlenbach was launched in 2005 as a regulars' table idea among active members of the volunteer fire brigade. Even the first event – despite unpredictable weather – attracted many villagers. Since then, the Dorfplatzfest has been one of the most beautiful festivals in Oerlenbach, a municipality in the district of Bad Kissingen in Lower Franconia (state of Bavaria).

In the middle of the village, in the middle of club life

The venue is the central village square in the town center. The fire brigade organizes the festival with its club kitchen, and the proceeds traditionally go to the club's activities. This gives the festival a dual character: a social gathering and support for the volunteer fire brigade, which ensures the safety of the community.
