Autumn regional market in Tübingen's old town with 100 exhibitors and the motto 'Regional is brilliant!'
The Tübingen autumn regional market is a classic market event in one of Southern Germany's most beautiful old towns. Organized by the city of Tübingen, it presents the best of the region once a year in early October — products from farms, gardens, meadows, and workshops of the Swabian Alb, Schönbuch, and Neckar Valley. The motto 'Regional is brilliant!' is the program: only products demonstrably from the region are sold, produced by people who present their products themselves.
Around 100 exhibitors are spread across the market squares and alleys of the old town. The culinary offer is impressive:
• Juices and Drinks: Tübingen apple juice, Dusslingen plant oils, Alb whisky, Swabian cider
• Specialties: Albzarella (regional mozzarella variant), Tübingen mead, Swabian Alb lentils, lamb sausages, homemade mustard
• Bread and Pastries: Farmhouse bread, wood-fired oven bread, yeast rings, Swabian patisserie
• Honey and Cheese: Beekeepers from the region, Alpine cheese, cream cheese
In addition, arts and crafts: felt products, sheep wool, ceramics, natural cosmetics, jewelry, soaps, medicinal herbs, plants — all handmade.
The venue is Tübingen's old town — Marktplatz, Holzmarkt, Krumme Brücke, and the surrounding alleys. The old town is one of the best-preserved in Southern Germany: medieval half-timbered houses, crooked alleys, the town hall with its colorful facade, the famous punt boat landing on the Neckar. On an autumn day with clear air and yellow leaves, the atmosphere in the market square is incomparable.
Tübingen (district capital of Tübingen, AGS 08416, around 92,000 inhabitants) is one of Germany's oldest university cities (since 1477). The city is located on the Neckar and is surrounded by the Swabian Alb, Schönbuch, and the Upper Neckar Nature Park — one of Baden-Württemberg's richest regional product landscapes. Tübingen maintains a particularly close connection between the city and its surroundings: the regional market is an expression of this tradition.
On Saturday, October 10, 2026, the city of Tübingen invites you to the autumn regional market in the old town. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., around 100 exhibitors will be spread across the market square, Holzmarkt, and old town alleys — all with products from the region, all with the motto 'Regional is brilliant!'
The offer covers the entire spectrum: Swabian specialties from Tübingen apple juice to Albzarella and Alb lentils to lamb sausages, Tübingen mead and mead whisky, plus honey, cheese, Hauswurst, plant oils, and patisserie. Arts and crafts in the form of felt products, jewelry, ceramics, natural cosmetics, and soaps complete the range. The plant, medicinal herb, and sheep wool stands are particularly popular.
