The Schwarzer Markt has quickly become a fixed date for enjoyment in Coburg, Bavaria. Coburg is an independent city in Upper Franconia. The venue is the Alte Pakethallen at the former goods station – an industrial charm location that lends a special atmosphere to the culinary event.

In the Pakethallen and the outdoor areas along the »Catwalk« and the Zollinger building, over 70 carefully selected exhibitors present everything related to culinary arts, cooking, and grilling: regional and international delicacies, specialties, kitchen equipment, as well as tastings of coffee, wine, beer, and spirits.
Live Shows and Flamme & Glut
On the kitchen stage in the main hall, visitors can watch professionals at work during live shows. The »Flamme & Glut« grill arena provides smoky aromas, and upscale catering under pavilions offers enjoyable breaks. In the evenings, DJ sets create a lively atmosphere, and on Saturday, late-night shopping until midnight and a fireworks display beckon.
Celebrity Guests
Each year, a prominent top chef is a guest: after Stefan Marquard (2024) and Swiss TV chef Meta Hiltebrand (2025), Michelin-starred chef, TV personality, restaurateur, and author Ralf Zacherl is the Special Guest on the show stage in 2026.

Schwarzer Markt — edition 2026
From May 14 to 17, 2026, the Alte Pakethallen at the Coburg Güterbahnhof will once again transform into a world of enjoyment. Over 70 carefully selected exhibitors will present culinary delights, kitchen equipment, and fine spirits in the halls and outdoor areas.
On the kitchen stage, professionals will showcase live shows, and grilling will take place in the »Flamme & Glut« grill arena. The Special Guest for 2026 is Michelin-starred chef and TV personality Ralf Zacherl. On Saturday, late-night shopping until midnight and a fireworks display will be featured.

Getting There
The Alte Pakethallen are located at the Güterbahnhof (Am Güterbahnhof 15 a/b) in Coburg, near the main train station. By car, take the A73 (Coburg exit), with parking available near the train station.
