The family autumn festival De Harvst in Zingst
The family autumn festival De Harvst lasts three days in Zingst. »De Harvst« is Low German for »the harvest«. The Baltic spa town presents it as a cosy alternative to loud Halloween fuss and as an atmospheric farewell to autumn. The organiser is the Kur- und Tourismus GmbH Zingst.
On the beach, giant and illuminated kites rise.
A fire show and illuminated stilt walkers with acrobatics turn the town into a stage in the evening, and a lantern parade winds through the spa town, one of the programme points families like best. The maze measures 350 square metres, and light installations decorate the whole spa town.
Children carve pumpkins and make crafts at their own stations. Then there is the soup walk »Lütten Suppentörn«: taking-part restaurants serve soup creations to taste and vote on. It carries a charge, while many other activities cost nothing.
To reach Zingst by car, take the B105 and the Halbinselstraße. By train, travel to Ribnitz-Damgarten or Velgast and continue by bus. The programme is spread across the beach, the harbour and the town centre.
Kites, runners and lights along the coast

On Rügen, the Rügenhof Putgarten invites visitors on 31.10.26 to its Halloween farm festival in the historic four-sided farmstead at Rügen's northern cape, with its thatched house, nursery and small shops. In Sassnitz the Molenlauf starts on Saturday at the foot of the mole, which at 1,450 metres is the longest outer mole in continental Europe. The programme has an 800-metre children's and charity run, a walkers' run and the main race over about seven kilometres with timing. Snack stands, music and award ceremonies frame the day in the town harbour.
In Greifswald, on Saturday at 8 pm, Gabriel Rosenbach on trumpet and flugelhorn and Tobias Altripp on piano play KlangFarben. Jazz in the Cathedral. They bring their own compositions, jazz standards and pieces by Chick Corea into the late Gothic cathedral of St Nicholas, bathed in coloured light for the occasion. A ticket costs 10 euros, in advance through MVTicket.de or at the box office at the cathedral. On Sunday, from 10 am to 4 pm, butterflies, giant penguins and octopuses take to the air on the Deponieberg at the Greifswald Kite Festival, with craft stations, a bouncy castle, face painting and music. Kites brought from home may fly too, and a pro pilot shows a giant show kite now and then. There are also a treasure hunt and a quiz with kites as prizes. Admission is free, packed food is allowed, and a free shuttle leaves from the ZOB in Greifswald at 9:30 am.
On Usedom, Lichterglanz & Meeresfeuer holds its premiere in Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin, and the three-day autumn event begins on Sunday. Light installations, performances with dance and music, a sunrise concert, an autumn brunch and a relay fireworks display moving through all three resorts are on the programme. The Usedomer Bäderbahn links the resorts at short intervals.
In Ribnitz-Damgarten, the November Creative Market runs from 1 November in the town centre, with handmade gifts, Advent decorations and creative activities for families. The exhibitors come from the area around the Saaler Bodden and the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula.
The Zeltkino Hiddensee at the harbour in Vitte is the only cinema on the car-free island. In the heated tent at least two films run daily, and the season lasts until 8 November.
