Fifteen hours in the salt-water spa

The Liquid Sound Festival at the Toskana Therme in Bad Sulza turns the spa pool into a concert hall. It starts on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and ends on Sunday, November 1, at 9:00 a.m. In between, live concerts, electronic sets, visual art and underwater sound run without a break.

The headliner is Joshua Sam Miller with “Sounds of the Ocean”, a journey in sound and image through the world's oceans. Live music meets visual art and original underwater recordings of whales and dolphins, while light and video projections travel across the dome of the spa.

Underwater speakers carry the music into the pool, and the live musicians play on a stage above the water. Smaller DJ and live sets by the Liquid Sound Club acts join in, and the night ends in the morning with music at the bistro bar.

There is no separate festival ticket: the visit is included in the regular spa admission.

Kirmes in the Wartburgkreis, Bach in Eisenach

In the Heimatscheune of Nazza, Saturday is the main festival day of the Nazzaer Kirmes, now in its 155th edition, with a dance evening and a live band until late at night. The Kirmes Buttlar, part of the Franconian Kirchweih tradition, puts a dance band on the fairground on Saturday evening, and on Sunday a parade with floats, costume groups and a brass band moves through the village. On Sunday at 5:00 p.m. the vocal ensemble SLIXS closes the festival. The cantata services are free.

On the festival ground at the Hofwiesenpark in Gera, the Herbstvolksfest Gera ends on Saturday with its closing fireworks. Several showmen stage a Halloween programme around October 31, with pumpkin decorations, costume actions and sweets for children. The fairground charges no admission.
