Halloween at Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's Northernmost Point
The Rügenhof Putgarten is a historic farm ensemble with a traditional thatched-roof house, a garden center, and small shops, located in the middle of the Wittow peninsula – on the way between the large Putgarten parking lot and Cape Arkona. Once a year, on Reformation Day (October 31st), the farm becomes the scene of a family festival centered around pumpkins, autumn decorations, and Halloween customs.
Pirate Otto and the Ghost Bride
The highlight is the performance by Pirate Otto and his Ghost Bride, who entertain the farm grounds between 1 PM and 6 PM, interacting with children and providing a mix of harmless spooky atmosphere and engaging activities. Additionally, there are pumpkin carving activities, autumn market stalls, and the Rügenhof's own farm shop with regional specialties.

Putgarten belongs to the municipality at Cape Arkona in the Vorpommern-Rügen district. The Halloween Hoffest complements the seasonal program around Cape Arkona – from the naval command bunker tours in summer to the Christmas market in November. For families from Bergen, Stralsund, and the entire island of Rügen, it's a welcome occasion for an autumn excursion to the cliff coast.
Halloween Hoffest Rügenhof — edition 2026
In 2026, Rügenhof Putgarten will once again transform into a Halloween stage for families on the last day of October. From 1 PM to 6 PM, Pirate Otto and his Ghost Bride will entertain the farm grounds with walking acts, small performances, and interactive activities for children.
The farm grounds will be decorated for autumn, pumpkins of all sizes will line the paths, and the farm shop will offer regional specialties to take home. Free admission – the ideal family outing between the end of the season for seaside resorts and the start of Advent.

Saturday, October 31, 2026 — Halloween Hoffest
- 1:00 PM — Halloween Hoffest begins, market stalls open

Getting There
By car via the B96 and L30 to Putgarten, park at the large parking lot. Continue on foot for about 200 meters to Rügenhof. By train to Bergen auf Rügen, then take RVR lines towards Putgarten.
