Siegen — University City in the South Westphalian Uplands

Siegen is located in the south of North Rhine-Westphalia, in the triangle between Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse, nestled in the hilly Siegerland region. With around 105,000 inhabitants, Siegen is the largest city in the South Westphalian Uplands and home to the University of Siegen. Economically shaped by the iron and steel industry as well as mechanical engineering, socially shaped by a vibrant club and sports culture — which includes the Siegerländer Company Run for over 20 years, one of the region's largest mass sports events.

Bismarckplatz Weidenau — the Running Hotspot

The start and finish of the run is Bismarckplatz in Siegen-Weidenau, a northern district with good accessibility. The square becomes the festival grounds: stage with moderation, catering stands, supply points, company pavilions for their teams. The square fills up from 5:30 PM onwards — warm-up, team photos, bib distribution.

5.5 km Circuit through Weidenau

The actual run starts at 7:30 PM. The 5.5 km long circuit leads through Weidenau — flat enough for beginners, varied enough for ambitious runners. Two categories: Running and Walking. Those with no running experience can walk the course — the organizers emphasize that participation is more important than personal bests.

8,500 Participants from Over 400 Companies

The scale is impressive: around 8,500 runners from more than 400 companies in the region — from DAX corporations to local craft businesses. This makes the Siegerländer Company Run one of the largest company runs in North Rhine-Westphalia and one of the largest mass sports events in South Westphalia.

Volksbank School Run — Young Talent at the Start

Parallel to the main run, the Volksbank School Run takes place — a shorter run for children and young people from the region's schools. This turns the event into a family affair: parents run in company teams, children in the school run, followed by a joint festival evening on Bismarckplatz.

Sponsors and Registration

Main sponsors are AOK Nord-West (naming sponsor), Volksbank, Siegenia (Siegen window and hardware manufacturer), and the Krombacher Brewery. Registration for companies has been open online since January 19, 2026, via firmenlauf-siegen.de and ends on June 25, 2026. Team packages and individual registrations are possible.

More Than a Run — Festival Evening on Bismarckplatz

After crossing the finish line, Bismarckplatz becomes the festival stage: live music, catering, Krombacher beer, and a long summer evening. Teams gather in their pavilions, the after-run talk with colleagues gets going, and Bismarckplatz remains lively late into the evening. Anyone working in the region plans the July 15th early in their summer calendar — the company run is a marker of the Siegerländer summer.
