Colourful Schlager parade and big beach party on the Baltic Sea beach — Joey Heindle, Menderes, Prince Damien
The Ostseebad Dahme is located in the Ostholstein district in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, directly on the border with Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and about 35 km northeast of Lübeck. With just under 1,500 inhabitants and several thousand beds, Dahme is one of the classic family health resorts on the eastern Baltic Sea coast — known for its white sandy beach, its pier, and its extensive summer event programme.
The Dahmer Schlagerparade is Dahme's main summer event — a mix of carnival parade, beach party, and open-air concert that transforms the entire Baltic Sea resort into a screamingly glamorous Schlager stage for one day. The idea: to take the German Schlager genre for what it is — entertaining, highly poppy, cheerfully superficial — and combine the format with a genuine Baltic Sea beach atmosphere.
The festival day is divided into two main parts:
A colourful Schlager parade moves from Dahme through the municipality and along the beach promenade. Costumed participants, Schlager floats with show acts, traditional costumes and carnival outfits — the typical mix of German summer Schlager culture.
Afterwards, Nystedplatz / Seebrückenvorplatz becomes the festival stage: a lively Schlager party with confirmed artists:
As with many Dahme events: those who have an Ostseecard (the guest card automatically received by overnight guests in Dahme's guesthouses, holiday apartments, and hotels) get in free of charge. Day visitors without an Ostseecard pay a daily entrance fee based on income. This arrangement makes the Schlagerparade attractive for regular visitors and anyone staying in Dahme or the neighbouring Baltic Sea resorts (Dahmeshöved, Kellenhusen, Grömitz).
For years, the Schlagerparade has been one of Dahme's three summer highlights (along with the Summer Beach Party and the Dahmer Summer Festival). It regularly attracts the attention of the national Schlager scene and is considered a reliable date in the Schlager tour calendar. A must-attend event for Schlager fans, a summer classic for regular visitors, and a curious spectacle for outsiders.
The 2026 edition of the Dahmer Schlagerparade runs on Thursday, July 16, with the established daily schedule — parade in the morning, beach party in the afternoon and evening. Confirmed artists include three Schlager stars: Joey Heindle, Menderes, and Prince Damien, who is making his Schlagerparade premiere in Dahme.
Free with Ostseecard. Day visitors without an Ostseecard pay a day entrance fee as specified by the organizer. Food and drinks available at snack and drink stands for a fee.
By car: A1 Lübeck–Travemünde, then B501 towards Grömitz/Dahme. Parking available in Dahme. By train: to Lübeck or Neustadt in Holstein, then bus to Dahme (approx. 30 min.).
Free with Ostseecard (overnight guests in Dahme and neighbouring Baltic Sea resorts receive the card automatically). Day visitors without an Ostseecard pay a day entrance fee.
For the full Schlager atmosphere, dressing up is encouraged — anyone arriving with glitter, colourful glasses, and Schlager accessories becomes part of the show. Don't forget your beach towel and sunscreen.
