Martial Hearts — Martial Arts with a Social Mission
The Martial Hearts Festival is one of Germany's youngest and most socially conscious martial arts formats — an international multi-discipline festival with a charity mission. From Thursday, February 26th to Sunday, March 1st, 2026, the 3rd edition in Siegen will offer four days of workshops for martial arts practitioners of all levels. The event is organized by the Taekwon-Do Schule Siegen at Barbarweg 20 (Weidenau district), in partnership with the Taekwon-Do Center Niederfischbach and the Aikido Dojo Siegen.
Six Disciplines Over Four Days
The festival offers workshops in six martial arts and movement disciplines:
- Taekwon-Do — the traditional Korean martial art
- Taiji-Quan — Chen style, the internal Chinese martial art
- Aikido — the Japanese art of harmonious defense
- Jiu-Jitsu — the traditional Japanese self-defense art
- Iaido — Japanese sword art
- Yoga — as a supplement to physical and mental practice
Training Structure
Workshop blocks typically run for 60–90 minutes, with 15–30 minute breaks in between. Sessions take place concurrently at two locations: TKD Center Niederfischbach and Aikido Dojo Siegen. The workshops are designed so that beginners without prior experience can also get a taste of a new discipline — no belt grading required.
Charity Mission — “Be Strong for Others”
The motto “Be strong to be strong for others” is not a marketing phrase but a firm concept: all proceeds go to the Medical Advisory Board of the DRK Children's Clinic Siegen — an institution dedicated to counseling and therapy for victims of violence against children and adolescents. Participants thus combine physical practice with social impact.
