About SailGP Public Screening
SailGP Public Screening — edition 2026
On the two race days, the courtyard of Rügenhof Putgarten will transform into a small SailGP fan zone. The races from Sassnitz will be broadcast live on a big screen. Catering and market stalls will be open, and the farm shop will offer regional specialties.
On Saturday evening, August 22, the reggae concert by Small Town Artists in the Leuchtturmwärtergarten will follow the screening — those interested can go directly from the farm to the concert at Kap Arkona. The large Putgarten car park will be free of charge for concertgoers from 7:00 PM onwards.

Connection with the Sail Grand Prix
The actual SailGP race takes place in Sassnitz harbour — tickets available via sailgp.com. The public screening is a free alternative for everyone without a Sassnitz ticket.
What is SailGP?
The SailGP league is the international professional class for high-speed foiling catamarans (F50). National teams compete against each other in a globally touring league; the races each last 12–15 minutes and are contested at speeds exceeding 90 km/h. In 2026, SailGP is expanding its calendar with a Grand Prix in Sassnitz on Rügen — sponsored by ROCKWOOL Germany — which will bring a top-tier international offshore sailing event to the Baltic Sea region for the first time.
Public Screening at Rügenhof
While the races in Sassnitz have their own spectator zones and ticket categories, the Rügenhof Putgarten offers a free public screening for everyone who wants to follow the spectacle on a big screen with catering and a family atmosphere. The farm is located just 25 km from Sassnitz harbour but is a worthwhile destination in its own right due to its sheltered location in Wittow.
Combination with the Kultursommer Concert
On the same evening, the season finale concert of Kultursommer Kap Arkona featuring Small Town Artists (Reggae, Rocksteady, Ska) will take place in the Leuchtturmwärtergarten Kap Arkona. The combined offer — public screening in the afternoon, concert in the evening — makes the weekend of August 22, 2026, a key date in the seasonal calendar at Kap Arkona.
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the Vorpommern-Rügen District
Putgarten belongs to the municipality of Kap Arkona in the Vorpommern-Rügen district. Sassnitz, the venue for the SailGP race, is located about 25 km southeast. Both locations are accessible via the B96 and L30 roads.
