2026
About Weinköste
Weinköste — edition 2026
From September 9th to 12th, 2026, Citymanagement Neumünster will once again transform the Teichuferanlagen in the city center into a wine mile. Four days of wine tasting with over 60 wines from German growing regions — from Mosel and Rheingau to Pfalz and Baden, and even Franconia — as well as selected international regions. Around 15 vintners and wine merchants will be at their pavilions, personally explaining their wines, terroirs, and vintages.

Neumünster — an independent city in the heart of Holstein
Neumünster is an independent city with around 80,000 inhabitants in the center of the state of Schleswig-Holstein, located about halfway between Hamburg and Kiel. The city is a transportation hub, a shopping magnet for a wide surrounding area, and home to numerous city center events. The Citymanagement Neumünster organizes several city festivals annually — the Weinköste is one of its most successful formats.
Wine by the Pond
The venue is the small green area of the Teichuferanlagen (pondside grounds) right in the city center — an unusually green patch of the city amidst the business district, which transforms into a wine mile for four days. Its compact location between Großflecken and the pedestrian zone makes the market a daytime meeting point for commuters, city strollers, and wine lovers.
Program and Assortment
- Over 60 wines from German growing regions and selected international areas
- Around 15 vintners and wine merchants — from established family wineries like Weingut Ochs, Weingut Kiefer, or Weingut Albert Schwaab to smaller wine cellars
- Regional culinary delights — cheese, antipasti, tarte flambée, bratwurst, and sweet specialties
- Live music on a small stage at the pondside grounds
- Pavilion setup along the pond's edge
Opening Hours and Atmosphere
The Weinköste opens on Wednesday afternoon at 5:00 PM and runs until 10:00 PM on Wednesday and Thursday — more of a classic after-work event. On Friday and Saturday, the market extends until midnight, becoming a summer wine gathering with a more festive atmosphere. The free admission makes the market an accessible meeting point for a broad audience.
