International Swing and Lindy Hop Dance Festival in Munich
The Rock That Swing Festival is internationally recognized as one of the most significant dance festivals for Lindy Hop, Boogie Woogie, Charleston, and Balboa. Since its inception, it has established itself in Munich, the capital of Bavaria, attracting an international audience every year.
The core of the festival is the dance camp: Over 300 workshops with more than 70 of the world's best instructors cover all levels – from beginners to training for instructors. Participants can create their own individual schedules.
In the evenings, the Deutsches Theater Munich and the Künstlerhaus transform into glamorous ballrooms. Several themed balls and parties run from Thursday to Monday, accompanied by around 19 live bands. Dance competitions and show acts complement the program; dance legend Chester Whitmore regularly appears as a special guest.
The festival celebrates the swing culture of the 1920s to 1950s in all its facets. The combination of historic Munich venues, international instructors, and live music makes Rock That Swing a unique experience and a firm fixture on the international swing scene.
