About Christmas Island Köpenick

When the old town of Köpenick becomes the "Christmas Island" during Advent, an entire district in southeast Berlin is bathed in winter light. On Köpenick Castle Square, directly in front of the baroque castle between the Dahme and Spree rivers, Laubinger Event sets up a small market village of wooden huts. Roasted almonds, mulled wine, gingerbread, arts and crafts, and a historic carousel characterize the scene. Unlike the large city center markets, the Christmas Island has the flair of a neighborhood market – dreamy, familial, and with the water all around at its back.

The Köpenick Christmas Island 2026 opens from December 11th to 13th, 2026, on the castle square in front of the baroque Köpenick Castle. For three days, wooden huts, fairy lights, and festive music transform the historic square into a small Advent market. Free admission, organized by Laubinger Event GmbH. Opening hours: Fri 2 PM–10 PM, Sat 12 PM–10 PM, Sun 12 PM–8 PM.

From December 11th to 13th, 2026, the Christmas Island will transform Köpenick Castle Square into a light market for the third Advent weekend. Wooden huts will be arranged in front of the baroque castle facade, along with tower brass music, a historic children's carousel, and the full range of mulled wine, roasted almonds, gingerbread, and bratwurst. Free admission.

S-Bahn line S3 to S Köpenick, then tram 27, 60, 61, 62, 67, or 68 to Schlossplatz Köpenick. By car, you can reach it via the A113 (Adlershof exit), but parking around the old town is limited.
