Nineties hits, sand between your toes, and Berlin summer at Strandbad Grünau
At the historic Strandbad Grünau on the Dahme, one of the Mark's oldest preserved lidos, the Mega 90er Beach 2026 invites you to its fifth edition. Many will have an answer to the question "Where was I when Mr. Vain was playing in the disco?" The Berlin summer festival combines live performances by original artists with DJ sets, beach atmosphere, and water views.
The Beachstage directly on the sand is the main venue: here, Culture Beat performs live, the German Eurodance act whose "Mr. Vain" dominated the charts for months in 1993. This is followed by Da Hool with "Meet Her at the Love Parade," the German-German DJ duo Ilja & Mike, and the Berlin fire and LED show by Cherry Berlin. The Waldarena behind it features Video DJ-T with visually synchronized sets.
Strandbad Grünau, opened in 1908, is located in the Grünau district (Treptow-Köpenick borough) on the west bank of the Dahme. In the twenties, it was one of Berlin's most glamorous recreational destinations, then a dance hall, and in the GDR, a place for public recreation. Since being taken over by STADT. LAND. BAD. GmbH, it is experiencing a new season as a venue. The beach festival series includes 80s, Schlager, and Mallorca editions in addition to the 90s event.
The Mega 90er Beach is explicitly not an exclusive club event: sandy beach, deck chairs, beer in plastic cups, everyone in shorts. Those who come in the original era's fashion (Buffalos, bomber jacket, neon yellow) belong. Admission 18 years and over – the organizers check at the entrance without exception.
The fifth edition of the Mega 90er Beach Party brings the most important Eurodance and Trance acts of the nineties to Berlin-Grünau on June 27, 2026. The organizer is STADT. LAND. BAD. GmbH, which has been managing the lido for several years.
Highlight: Culture Beat performs "Mr. Vain" live – the track that reached number 1 across Europe in 1993 and shaped the sound of Eurodance. Da Hool, one of the defining DJ figures of the Berlin Love Parade era, follows up with "Meet Her at the Love Parade." Cherry Berlin provides the visual element with fire and LED performances.
The Strandbad remains open for swimming during the event; swimming in the clear Dahme water is part of the program.
