Getting There

By train: Direct ICE/RE connections to Homburg Hauptbahnhof, then a 10-minute walk to the Historischer Marktplatz. By car: Take the A6 exit Homburg, parking available in the city center.

The Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve

The Bliesgau has been recognized as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO since 2009. Orchards, extensive pastures with orchids, traditional agriculture – the region between Saarbrücken and the Palatinate border is one of Germany's most diverse cultural landscapes. At the Landmarkt, you will find exactly the products that this landscape yields: Bliesgau apple juice, honey from orchard beekeepers, goat cheese from the Mandelbachtal valley, game from the forestry office.

Seasonality as the Program

The date at the end of September is chosen deliberately: harvest time. On the tables, you'll find apples and pears from the orchards, pumpkins from the Bliesgau gardens, game from the autumn forests, fresh liqueurs, brandies, and new juice.
