Kaiserstühler Burgundertour — Wine Hike as a Culinary Experience

The Kaiserstühler Burgundertour is one of the best wine hikes in Germany. Organized by the Bischoffinger Winzer (Vogtsburg im Kaiserstuhl), the tour brings together over 25 top wineries and cooperatives from the region on an approximately 6-kilometer circular route through the vineyards. 2026 marks the seventh edition — and the concept has been stable for years: a hike through the vineyards, tasting Burgundy varieties from participating wineries at various stations, culinary stations with regional specialties as accompaniments, and an after-party at the final stop.

Burgundy Varieties — Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc

The Kaiserstuhl is one of the best Burgundy growing regions in Germany. With a warm climate, volcanic soils, and sun-drenched slopes, the winemakers here produce excellent Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, and Auxerrois. At the Burgundertour, the winemakers present their top cuvées and compare their styles — a rare opportunity to experience the wine culture of the Bischoffingen sites in a compact format.

Program — Hike, Tasting, Enjoyment

Reception from 11 a.m. at the Bischoffinger Winzer (Bacchusstr. 2, 79235 Vogtsburg) — participants receive their glass and wristband here. Afterwards, you can walk the approx. 6 km circular route through the vineyards. At various stations, participating wineries present their Burgundy varieties — e.g., Bercher, Johner, Hauser-Bühler, and many more. In addition, 9 gastronomic stations offer culinary accompaniments — from Brooklyn Burger Grill to Pino Magma to the Allgäuer Käselädele. Regular serving until 6 p.m., after-party at the Bischoffinger Winzer from 6 p.m. onwards. A tractor shuttle brings guests from Gare d'Oberrotweil to the festival grounds.

Vogtsburg im Kaiserstuhl and the Kaiserstuhl Growing Region

Vogtsburg im Kaiserstuhl (Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district, AGS 08315, around 5,800 inhabitants) is located on the western slope of the Kaiserstuhl and consists of several wine-growing villages — Bischoffingen, Oberrotweil, Achkarren, Bickensohl, Burkheim, Oberbergen, and Schelingen. The Kaiserstuhl, a low mountain range of volcanic origin, is home to one of Germany's highest-quality wine regions. The Bischoffinger Winzer association is one of the most important communities in the region and shapes the regional wine event culture with the Burgundertour.
