Summer concert evening with live music from SV and TV Hinterweidenthal on the Teufelstischtrail weekend
Hinterweidenthal is a small municipality in the southern Dahner Felsenland, known primarily for the Teufelstisch – a spectacular sandstone formation that is one of the landmarks of the Wasgau region. Despite its manageable population, the village's club life is unusually active, and the SVH Open Air is its musical flagship. The SV Hinterweidenthal sports club is behind the event, often in cooperation with TV Hinterweidenthal, which celebrates its annual "Musiksommer" (Music Summer) concurrently.
The date – July 11, 2026 – is deliberately chosen: it falls on the weekend of the Teufelstischtrail, the regionally known trail running competition that brings numerous runners and spectators to Hinterweidenthal. The SVH Open Air offers these guests a culinary and musical program in the evening and uses the increased visitor frequency for a good festival weekend.
Programmatically, the evening focuses on live music. Regional cover bands and original Palatinate compositions are on stage; the musical spectrum ranges from rock and pop to country and Palatinate dialect songs, depending on the year. Catering is provided by the clubs: draft beer, regional wine, bratwurst, steaks, fries – the classic club festival menu.
Hinterweidenthal is located in the heart of the Dahner Felsenland, one of Germany's most scenic hiking areas. The SVH Open Air is part of a broad local event culture that appeals equally to overnight guests, day-trippers, and locals. For hikers and athletes, the Open Air is the ideal conclusion to an active day in the Felsenland.
The concert is organized by SV Hinterweidenthal together with TV Hinterweidenthal. The proceeds from catering will go towards local club activities. Current band information will be published in advance in the Hinterweidenthal event calendar.
The exact band program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in early summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years: a long concert evening with two to three acts and continuous catering.
Village area Hinterweidenthal, 76889 Hinterweidenthal. The exact location will be communicated in advance on the municipal website.
Free admission or a small contribution to costs (depending on the program). Catering at club prices.
Hinterweidenthal is located on the B10 federal road between Pirmasens and Landau. Train station on the Pirmasens–Wissembourg line. Parking in the village area.
The Teufelstischtrail takes place on the same weekend – trail running in the Felsenland. A hike to the nearby Teufelstisch (landmark of the Wasgau) is ideal as a day program before the Open Air.
