60th Edition — one of Europe's oldest sailing events

The Internationale Bodenseewoche is one of Europe's most traditional sailing events and has been a firm fixture in the Lake Constance summer calendar since 1909. From May 29th to 31st, 2026, it will celebrate its 60th edition in Konstanz. Over 117 years of tradition, around 1,000 participants (sailors, rowers, and helpers), and approximately 80,000 visitors come to Konstanz harbour every year — the mix of sporting competition, a maritime Volksfest (public festival), and Lake Constance atmosphere makes the event unique.

Regattas with around 160 boats

The sporting heart of the event are the regattas on Lake Constance: Around 160 sailing ships in various classes, plus rowing competitions, make the event one of the largest inland sailing events in Europe. Registration is via manage2sail.com. Parallel to the regattas, rowing competitions and inclusive sailing days will take place.

Motto 2026: “Alle an Bord — Wassersport für alle”

The 60th edition focuses on inclusion: The Baden-Württemberg Sailing Association and the Baden-Württemberg Rowing Association are jointly inviting people with disabilities and their families to inclusive water sports experiences. The “Inklusive Segeltage Baden-Württemberg 2026” (Inclusive Sailing Days Baden-Württemberg 2026) are a central programme element, combining the competitive nature of the Bodenseewoche with social openness.

Maritime Market, Harbour Concerts, and Water Shows

On land, the Konstanz harbour area transforms into a maritime festival mile: The Maritime Market offers sailing apparel, nautical accessories, and harbour specialities; harbour concerts and water ski shows accompany the three festival days. Numerous performances on stages by the water and on land — the Bodenseewoche is a Volksfest, sports event, and cultural festival week all in one.

Konstanz on Lake Constance

Konstanz, with around 84,000 inhabitants, is the largest city on Lake Constance and the seat of the Konstanz district. The city is located on the Swiss border, directly at the transition from the Obersee to the Untersee. Konstanz harbour, with the Konzil building, the Imperia statue, and the Lake Constance shipping companies, is the maritime centre of the city — and the natural venue for the Internationale Bodenseewoche. The foothills of the Alps in the background, the lake at your doorstep, the historic old town around the corner: The event setting is one of the most beautiful in Southern Germany.
