1 Million Lights, 150 Stalls

The market is spectacularly illuminated — over 1 million lights bathe the harbor, market stalls, and old town alleys in warm golden light. Around 150 decorated wooden huts are spread from the harbor along Marktstätte and the adjacent city center streets, up to the illuminated stars of the old town. Classic Christmas market offerings — mulled wine, gingerbread, bratwurst — are combined with regional Lake Constance specialties.

Christmas Boat with 360° Panoramic Bar

A true Konstanz specialty: the Christmas boat — a ship docked in the harbor that serves as a 360° panoramic bar. Konstanz (Konstanz district, district code 08335, approx. 84,000 inhabitants) is located at the western end of Lake Constance, directly on the border with Switzerland. The historic old town with the Konstanzer Münster, the medieval Niederburg, and the Konzilgebäude (site of the Council of Constance 1414–1418) is one of the most beautiful on Lake Constance. You can reach the market in a 5-minute walk from Konstanz train station.
