Two-day village festival in the Brenz Valley municipality of the Heidenheim district
The Hermaringen Dorffest has been a firm fixture in the event calendar of the Brenz Valley municipality (Heidenheim district, state of Baden-Württemberg) for years. On the second-to-last weekend in June, the municipal administration, together with local clubs — music associations, sports clubs, the fire brigade, church communities — organises a two-day festival centred around the Rathausplatz. For the approximately 2,200 inhabitants, the weekend is an important occasion for the village community, which many former Hermaringen residents and acquaintances from the surrounding area also return for.
Saturday evening begins with the traditional ceremonial keg tapping by the mayor and a long dance night with live music. Clubs will be serving their guests in marquees and festival tents around the Rathausplatz — from grilled bratwurst and steaks to Swabian specialities and sweet treats. The musical accompaniment is provided by regional bands that keep the audience entertained late into the night.
Sunday starts with an open-air ecumenical service, followed by a musical brunch with brass band music. The afternoon focuses on the children's and family programme: bouncy castle, craft activities, face painting, and game stations run by the clubs. Food and drinks will be served until the late afternoon before the festival concludes with the setup and dismantling by the clubs.
Hermaringen is located in the Brenz Valley on the eastern Swabian Jura, between Heidenheim and Giengen an der Brenz. The municipality belongs to the Heidenheim district and is characterised by meadows, forests, and the Brenz river flowing through the valley. The Dorffest is a typical example of the vibrant club culture in small Swabian communities — driven by the commitment of volunteers and the close bond of the citizens to their home community.
From June 28 to 29, 2026, the municipality of Hermaringen, together with local clubs, invites you to the annual Dorffest on the Rathausplatz. The programme combines classic Saturday evening festival operations with the traditional Sunday family day.
The Heidenheimer Zeitung announces the usual road closures in the town centre for 2026, as the festival area extends beyond the Rathausplatz to include adjacent streets. Clubs, the fire brigade, and church communities are organising the festival together.
Detailed programme and exact times will be published before the festival on hermaringen.de.
