The Grand Schlemm is one of Germany's most extraordinary gourmet events. Instead of a classic restaurant visit, participants experience a ten-course menu as a walk: At ten stations on the beach of the Kaiserbäder Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf, and Bansin, the island's top chefs each serve a course of their choice. Each chef presents a specialty, often related to regional products: Baltic Sea fish, game from the forests of Vorpommern, asparagus, and berries from the island.
