About Glottertäler Rebhisli-Tour

On Thursday, May 14, 2026 (Ascension Day), the 14th Glottertäler Rebhisli-Tour takes place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.: a scenic wine hike covering 8.8 kilometers and 361 meters of altitude through the vineyards of the Glottertal. At ten rustic vineyard huts (Rebhisli), the members of the Roter Bur cooperative serve their single-vineyard wines, Glottertal grape juice, and a hearty snack. Glottertal — Vineyards in the Southern Black Forest

The Glottertal is one of the most beautiful wine-growing regions in the southern Black Forest — the vineyards climb up to 500 meters in altitude and belong to the Baden / Tuniberg / Markgräflerland wine region. The Roter Bur Glottertäler Winzer eG cooperative (founded in 1932) unites around 100 family businesses from the valley. Their flagship wines are Spätburgunder and Grauburgunder, Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, and Weißburgunder — complemented by the characteristic Roter Bur, a local top product.

The Rebhisli — Vineyard Huts in the Wine Landscape

The Rebhisli are the small wine huts that the Glottertal vintners set up in the middle of their vineyards: This is where wine is brought to the farmstead, tools are stored, and guests are welcomed. For the Rebhisli-Tour, ten of these huts are opened and catered. At each station, the hiker meets a different vintner — with single-vineyard wines, grape juice, and a small snack.

14th Edition on May 14, 2026

The 14th Glottertäler Rebhisli-Tour takes place on Thursday, May 14, 2026 — Ascension Day. Start is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (you start whenever you want), last arrival at 6 p.m. The route is 8.8 kilometers long, has 361 meters of altitude, and is designed as a scenic circular hike. You start and end at the Einbollenhisli or at the Roter Bur sales office in Winzerstraße 2 in the valley. You can secure a starter set with a glass and map in advance — the map guides you from Hisli to Hisli through the vineyards.

What You Will Experience

The tour combines three experiences: Hiking through the southwestern Baden wine landscape with views of the Black Forest heights and the Rhine plain; wine enjoyment with single-vineyard wines that embody the individual vintners and locations; and personal contact with the wine families at their Rebhisli. At each station, you will hear a story about the wine, the location, the family. This makes the Rebhisli-Tour an intimate alternative to classic wine festivals — no festival tent, but directly among the vines.

Ascension Day — Father's Day in the Black Forest

The date on Ascension Day (also Father's Day) is part of the program: Many locals traditionally use the day for the tour, joined by hikers from Freiburg, the High Black Forest, and the Markgräflerland. The atmosphere is familiar — Father's Day groups with handcarts, young couples, hiking groups from the surrounding valleys. The mood is lively, but never overcrowded: the route distributes the approximately 1,000 participants comfortably.

Tradition Since 2013

The Rebhisli-Tour was launched in 2013 — the 14th edition in 2026 shows that the format has established itself as the Glottertal season opener. The Roter Bur cooperative, Tourism Glottertal, and Schwarzwald Tourism see the tour today as an annual flagship event of the region.

Glottertäler Rebhisli-Tour — edition 2026

The 14th Glottertäler Rebhisli-Tour takes place on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. A scenic wine hike covering 8.8 km and 361 meters of altitude through the vineyards of the Glottertal with ten vineyard hut stations. At each hut, the Roter Bur vintners serve single-vineyard wines, grape juice, and a snack. Starter set with glass and map available in advance.

14th Edition on Ascension Day 2026

The Rebhisli-Tour 2026 follows the proven route: Start at your own pace between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. at the Einbollenhisli, from there on a circular hike through the Glottertal vineyards — midday views to the Kaiserstuhl, afternoon light over the Black Forest heights. The vintner families await you at ten huts.

For the 14th edition, Roter Bur will focus on the character of the Glottertal growing region — Spätburgunder, Grauburgunder, and Weißburgunder, Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, as well as the characteristic Roter Bur. Single-vineyard wines mean: one wine per station, matched to the respective vineyard site.
