30 Years roccafé — A Club Anniversary with History

The roccafé is one of the best-known cultural centers in the northern Margraviate region and is celebrating its 30th club anniversary in 2026. The roccafé e.V. was founded in 1996 and has since operated the cultural café of the same name in the renovated ROCCA-Fabrik in the center of Denzlingen — a former industrial building converted into a cultural venue. For over three decades, the café has established itself as a firm fixture for cabaret, music, comedy, cinema, and literature.

Summer Festival in July

The summer festival on Saturday, July 18, 2026, is the highlight of the anniversary year. The festival grounds around the ROCCA-Fabrik on Hauptstraße will open at 5 PM. The format is "free and outdoors" — free admission, catering by food trucks offering various cuisines, classic crêpes, grilled sausages, a cocktail bar. Several live bands will perform on the stage in the courtyard, and a kids' program (animation, games, creative activities) will run concurrently — the summer festival aims to appeal to all generations, in keeping with the venue's broad programming.

The ROCCA-Fabrik and Denzlingen's Cultural Life

The ROCCA-Fabrik is part of a remarkable cultural enhancement of Denzlingen: a small community of around 13,700 inhabitants in the Markgräflerland (between Freiburg and Emmendingen) has, through roccafé, a cultural center that far exceeds the usual level for a medium-sized town. The program includes cabaret evenings, singer-songwriter concerts, film nights, readings, concert series, and comedy — a dense club life supported by volunteer engagement. The 30th anniversary is an occasion to celebrate this tradition.

Denzlingen and the Markgräflerland

Denzlingen is located in the Markgräflerland region, at the transition from the Black Forest to the Rhine Plain, 10 km northeast of Freiburg im Breisgau. The municipality is part of the Emmendingen district and is a popular place to live due to its favorable location (train to Freiburg, A 5 motorway). The roccafé is part of this identity — a cultural center that no longer forces residents to commute to Freiburg but offers culture directly in town.
