Four-day sports and party festival of FSV Rot-Weiß Stegen in the Dreisamtal valley
The Pfingst-Sport-Fest Stegen was initiated in 1971 by FSV Rot-Weiß Stegen 1962 e.V. and has since become a fixture in the festival calendar of the Dreisamtal valley and southern Breisgau. 2026 marks the 53rd edition. The concept has been proven for decades: four days of sports, music, and party — driven by the club life of FSV with over 200 volunteers.
The event kicks off on Friday, May 22nd, 2026, at 5 PM with the AH-Ü-35 (over-35 veterans) tournament. In the evening from 7 PM, the festival tent opens for the "Local-Heroes & Legends Night" — a musical evening with regional cover bands playing classics from rock, pop, and Schlager. The atmosphere is familiar and rustic, with a mixed crowd of FSV members, locals from Stegen, and guests from neighboring towns.
Saturday starts at 10 AM with the company and leisure tournament — friendly companies from the Dreisamtal valley and amateur teams compete against each other. From 6 PM, the festival tent opens for the "PSF Dirndl & Lederhosn Party" — come dressed in Bavarian-Swabian traditional attire (Dirndl or Lederhose) and party until late into the night. Entry is allowed — you are welcome even without traditional clothing, but if you come, you should join the celebration.
Sunday is the biggest day. In the morning, women's and club tournaments start at 11 AM. From 6 PM, the festival tent opens for the "legendary PSF-KULT-NACHT". DJ B-SITO and the band NO CHANGE will get the party going. The KULT-NACHT attracts thousands of guests from Freiburg and the surrounding area every year — it is considered one of the best club parties in the region.
Pentecost Monday, May 25th, 2026, is Family Day. Youth tournaments start at 11 AM, the traditional Frühschoppen concert at 11:30 AM with brass music, children's games, a bouncy castle, and face painting in the afternoon. The festival winds down peacefully in the late afternoon.
Stegen, a municipality with just over 4,500 inhabitants in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district, is located in the Dreisamtal valley east of Freiburg at the transition to the Black Forest. The village consists of the districts Eschbach, Wittental, and Stegen-Mitte and is the starting point for hikes to Kandel or to St. Peter / St. Märgen.
The dates fall on the long Pentecost weekend of 2026: Friday, May 22nd (eve of Pentecost), to Pentecost Monday, May 25th. Thus, the 53rd edition follows the traditional Pentecost format. The sporting highlight will be the football tournaments in all age and skill categories.
