About Fischerfest Rottenacker
Fischerfest Rottenacker — edition 2026
The 2026 Rottenacker Fischerfest will take place on the weekend of June 27 to 28, 2026, at the Fischerhütte on the Danube bank. The organizer is the Rottenacker Angling Club e.V. In case of bad weather, it will be postponed to the replacement weekend of August 1-2, 2026 – a forward-thinking plan that the club has maintained for years.
Smoked trout from the club's own smokehouse, fish ragout, fried fish, French fries, and draft beer form the culinary backbone. The local music club provides brass music, and in the evening, a party band takes over.

Danube, Fish, and Brass Music
Rottenacker is located on the right bank of the Danube in the Alb-Donau district, between Munderkingen and Ehingen – one of the particularly fish-rich sections of the Upper Swabian Danube Valley. The local angling club, a traditional institution in the region, takes great care of its water sections. Once a year, it invites you to its annual main event: the Fischerfest at the Fischerhütte right on the Danube bank.
Smoked Trout as a Trademark
The highlight of the festival is the smoked trout from the club's own smokehouse. The trout come from the club's own pond facilities, are processed directly on-site, and smoked according to traditional customs. In addition, there's fish ragout (a specialty of the club, based on Danube carp, pike, and zander), fried fish, and vegetarian alternatives. French fries, draft beer, and Swabian classics complete the offering.
Brass Music and Sociability
The musical program is usually provided by the local music club or a guest ensemble from the region – Swabian-Bavarian brass music, folk songs, and in the evening, hits and party music. The atmosphere is family-friendly and village-like: no stage show, but slow lingering on the Danube bank with festival benches, lanterns, and a view of the calm water.
Club Activities
- Club's own smokehouse with fresh fish daily
- General meeting with honors and trophy presentations
- Kingfisher competition on the landscape lake as a seasonal activity
- Good Friday Smoked Trout (pre-orders possible)
- Youth camp and angling training
Danube Day with On-Site Atmosphere
Visitors to the Fischerfest can combine the day with a walk along the Danube, a bike tour on the Danube Cycle Path (the classic route between Donaueschingen and Passau), or an exploration of the nearby Swabian Jura. The Upper Swabian Danube Valley offers a mix of quiet natural scenery and small villages with a strong club tradition – Rottenacker, Munderkingen, Ehingen, Erbach.
