Westmünsterland Street Food — Three Days in the City Centre

The Bocholt City Food Festival is one of the most dynamic early summer street food events in the western Münsterland. The organizer is the City of Bocholt via Bocholt Marketing. Unlike most street food festivals, it doesn't take place in a single square but extends over several city centre areas — a kind of urban street food axis.

Dates and Opening Hours 2026

From May 29th to 31st, 2026:

• Friday, May 29th: from 4:00 PM
• Saturday, May 30th: from 12:00 PM
• Sunday, May 31st: from 12:00 PM

Until late in the evening, depending on the weather and the mood on stage.

From St.-Georg-Platz to Ravardistraße

The festival spans two zones, connected by the pedestrian zone:

• St.-Georg-Platz — historic market square, main stage
• Ravardistraße — fully integrated into the festival for the first time in 2026, with additional food trucks and a pop-up stage

This expansion of the festival area is a deliberate response to the success of recent years — more trucks, more seating, more DJs.

International Street Food Culture

The food truck line-up changes annually, typically including:

• Burgers, Pulled Pork, Smoker BBQ
• Mexican Tacos and Burritos
• Asian Bao, Sushi Burritos, Korean BBQ, Bibimbap
• Mediterranean stalls — Falafel, Halloumi Wraps
• Vegetarian and vegan options
• Sweets — Donuts, Crêpes, Pancakes
• Specialty drinks — Cocktail bars, Gin, Craft Beer, Bubble Tea

Music and Atmosphere

The musical concept focuses on DJs and live music — relaxed beats during the day, mainstream charts, house, and lounge music in the evening. Live bands complement the programme, especially on Saturday evenings, which are traditionally the festival's highlight.

Bocholt — The North Rhine-Westphalian City Near the Netherlands

Bocholt is located in the Borken district in western Münsterland, only about 5 kilometres from the Dutch border. With around 71,000 inhabitants, the city is a central hub for the region and also attracts many Dutch visitors from the immediate border area (Winterswijk, Aalten, Doetinchem) for the Food Festival — cross-border street food tourism is a hallmark of Bocholt.
