Rosenfest Lichtenstein — edition 2026
The 2026 anniversary festival will be shaped with special accents on the 30-year history of the Rosenfest. Memorabilia from the first Rosenfest in 1996, historical photo exhibitions, and thematic floristry will characterize the grounds around Neumarkt and Parkschlösschen.
On the stage at Neumarkt, regional bands will alternate with dance groups and solo artists, while the park will host readings and artisan demonstrations. Regional providers from the Zwickau district will cater to culinary delights.

30 Years of Flower Festival in the Erzgebirgsvorland
Lichtenstein/Sa. is located in the Zwickau district at the transition from the Erzgebirgsvorland to the Mulden region and has been the seat of the Counts of Schönburg-Waldenburg since the 17th century. The Parkschlösschen with its baroque pleasure garden forms the natural backdrop for the Rosenfest, which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026.
Concept Between Garden and City
The festival uniquely combines two venues: the central Neumarkt with the main stage and the extensive park of the Kultur.Palais. On the Neumarkt, artisans, gardeners, and restaurateurs gather, while concerts and readings take place in the park. Roses – as the symbol of the festival – permeate the grounds in the form of planters, rose beds, themed floristry, and decorative installations.
Anniversary Connections
The 30th edition consciously references Lichtenstein's horticultural tradition. Allusions to the first Rosenfest in 1996 run through the grounds, with historical photos and memories on display. The interactive event «Komm im Zeichen der Rose» (Come in the Sign of the Rose) invites visitors to wear creative outfits – the most beautiful will be awarded small prizes.
Family Festival in the Park
In addition to roses and arts and crafts, the festival offers a broad family program: live bands on the stage at Neumarkt, children's activities, hands-on workshops, and culinary specialties from regional producers. The Parkschlösschen becomes the vibrant heart of a summer day, cementing the festival's reputation as one of the most atmospheric events in the Saxon festival calendar outside the major cities.
