A Delightful Break Between the Danube and the Swabian Jura

From Friday, October 2nd, to Sunday, October 4th, 2026, the beer city of Ehingen invites you to its third edition of the GenussMomente. A three-day long weekend where the entire city center becomes the venue: restaurants and cafés offer special menus, galleries display exhibitions, tour guides lead guided hikes, artisans present their work, and wellness hotels open their spa areas. The event is coordinated by the Große Kreisstadt Ehingen and brings together players from gastronomy, tourism, art, culture, and retail.

The Concept — Enjoyment in Its Many Facets

Unlike traditional city festivals, the GenussMomente deliberately focus on a quieter, curated atmosphere: it's not about mass catering, but about time for enjoyment. Visitors are invited to be pampered, engage their senses, discover something new, or simply take a break. Participating restaurants serve multi-course menus with regional ingredients, cafés offer specialty weekends, galleries host special exhibitions, and wellness hotels provide weekend wellness packages with two nights and a spa program.

Sunday with Open Shops — The Highlight for the City Center

On Sunday, October 4th, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., the Sunday with open shops takes place — the highlight of the GenussMomente for retail. The shops in Ehingen's city center open their doors, present autumn collections, offer special promotions, and create a festival atmosphere with street food stalls and live music in the market square. It's one of the few occasions in the year when Ehingen's city center is open on a Sunday.

Guided Hikes and Nature Experiences

An important component of the GenussMomente are the guided hikes and nature excursions. Ehingen is located between the Danube and the Swabian Jura — the city's and surrounding communities' hiking guides offer themed tours: Danube floodplain hikes, orchard walks, wine hikes in the southern part of the city area, and culinary farm visits with direct marketers. An ideal combination of exercise, nature, and culinary experience.

Beer culture shapes the city's identity — and is present during the GenussMomente: tastings, brewery tours, and special beers for the event.
