Smoked trout fresh from the oven — ASV's early summer festival
The Angelsportverein (ASV) Ingersheim (Angling Club Ingersheim) has been managing local fishing on the Neckar for decades — carp, pike, trout, and other freshwater fish. Its Fischerfest on Hindenburgplatz behind the town hall has been an established date in the Ingersheim summer calendar for years, attracting guests from the entire greater Heilbronn and Ludwigsburg area.
The 2026 Fischerfest runs for two days over the weekend of June 13 to 14. The venue is Hindenburgplatz behind the town hall in the center of Ingersheim — a green square with old trees and seating. The space is well-suited for setting up — the club tent, stage, smoker, and tables can be accommodated without any problems.
Smoked trout is the hallmark of the Fischerfest. Fresh trout are cooked for several hours in a traditional smoker using beechwood and juniper branches — a craft technique that the ASV has perfected over the years. The fish are served fresh from the smoker, with bread and a sauce made from cream, horseradish, and fresh herbs.
In addition to smoked trout, the ASV serves other fish specialties: fried herring, char, fried trout, fish soup, and sometimes carp. Swabian side dishes — potato salad, bread, mixed salad. Beer from the local brewery, wine from the Württemberg region. The atmosphere is classic club festival: long tables, conviviality, a stage with Schlager and folk music, and a dance floor in the evening.
For children, there is a small play area and a carp petting zoo (fish in a tank to look at). Hindenburgplatz is stroller-friendly. The festival is one of the typical Swabian club festivals with a clear identity and a long-standing regular clientele.
The 2026 Fischerfest opens on Saturday at 2:00 PM and on Sunday at 11:00 AM. The smoker runs continuously — throughout the weekend, freshly smoked trout will fill the town center with their typical aroma. The club bar serves beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
On Saturday evening from 7:00 PM, a Schlager or dance band will play on stage — typical club festival atmosphere with long tables and conviviality.
