Town festival with a strawberry focus

The Strawberry Festival Werther is the annual early summer town festival of the small East Westphalian town of Werther — and thus one of the most characteristic themed town festivals in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2026, it will take place from Saturday, May 30, to Sunday, May 31, 2026 in the Werther city center along the central Ravensberger Straße.

The strawberry as the main theme

The festival concept is consistently strawberry-focused. The culinary offerings of the participating stalls, cafés, and restaurants revolve around the red fruit:

Werther in the Gütersloh district

Werther (Westf.) is a small town with around 11,500 inhabitants in the Gütersloh district in North Rhine-Westphalia, on the northwest edge of the East Westphalia-Lippe region. The historic city center with its half-timbered houses and the characteristic Ravensberger Straße forms the festival backdrop. The Strawberry Festival has established itself over the years as one of the most important dates in the town calendar, attracting visitors from the entire Gütersloh district as well as from Bielefeld.

Werther Business Association as organizer

The organizer is the Werther Business Association e.V. — the association of Werther traders. The association coordinates exhibitors, the stage, the flea market, and advertising. The close integration with the Werther shops makes the Sunday opening hours possible, turning the experience into a complete family day.
