Berlin Village Christmas
Blankenburg is one of those Berlin districts that still preserve their village identity — a village green (Anger) in the very northeast of the city, incorporated in 1920, located in the Pankow district. Unlike the central Berlin Christmas markets, the Blankenburg Christmas Festival is small, intimate, and consistently non-commercial: no chain mulled wine packages, no external showmen, no stalls. Instead, local residents, associations, the local church community, and initiatives.

The festival runs from 1 PM to 6 PM at the Alt-Blankenburg church community garden, Dorfanger 17. Stalls offer arts and crafts and small gifts, along with mulled wine, gingerbread, stollen, bratwurst, and hot punch. On a small stage, choirs, school clubs, the brass band, or solo musicians from the district perform. A nativity scene in the garden is a mandatory part. Getting There
S-Bahn line S2 to Blankenburg, then a ten-minute walk towards the Dorfanger. Alternatively, Tram M2 to Pankow + Bus 154 to Blankenburg. Parking around the Dorfanger is very limited — travel by public transport or bicycle is recommended.
