Three days of village festival at Blankenburg village green in northern Berlin
Blankenburg is one of those Berlin districts that have retained their village character to this day. Located in the middle of the Pankow district, characterized by single-family homes, allotment gardens, and the old village green with its church, Blankenburg feels more like a village in Brandenburg than a district of the capital. It is precisely this uniqueness that the Ortsfest Blankenburg celebrates once a year.
The venue is the Blankenburg village green, a historic square with the village church at its center and a parking lot in front, which is transformed into a stage and stall area for the festival. Blankenburg associations, local bands, children's programs, and show dance groups take turns on the stage. In addition, there are rides for children, game stations, and food and drink offerings.
The highlight on Sunday is the celebratory church service in the Blankenburg village church, which has traditionally concluded the Ortsfest for decades. Thus, the festival combines church-village tradition with modern association culture – a typical Pankow village format that can only be found in a few places in Berlin in this form.
The organizer is the Runder Tisch Blankenburg – an alliance of residents, associations, and allotment garden communities – together with the Garten- und Siedlerfreunde Anlage Blankenburg e.V. Admission is free. Funding comes from donations, stall fees, and small district grants.
The Ortsfest Blankenburg 2026 is expected – as for many years – on the first weekend of September. Based on previous editions (2023: September 1st–3rd, 2024: September 6th–8th, 2025: September 12th–14th), the date of September 4th to 6th, 2026, is likely. Definitive confirmation will be provided with the program flyer in the summer of 2026 on dorfanger-blankenburg.de.
The venue remains the Blankenburg village green around the village church in the Berlin district of Blankenburg (13129 Berlin, Pankow district). Free admission.
The exact daily program for 2026 will be published by the Runder Tisch Blankenburg in the summer on the association's website and on local notice boards. Known from previous years and to be continued:
