Bread from the centuries-old clay oven as part of the Brandenburger Landpartie
The Lucke-Hof at Alte Hauptstraße 35 in Premnitz is a four-sided farmstead built in 1722 — one of the best-preserved historical farmhouses in the western Havelland. Today, it is maintained by the Lucke-Hof e.V. association on a voluntary basis and operated as a farm museum: the black kitchen, smokehouse, living room, stables, and barns are preserved in their original state or have been carefully restored. The farm is one of the stops on the Brandenburger Landpartie — the major open farm day in Brandenburg, which opens hundreds of farms to visitors every June.
On Saturday, June 13, 2026, it's Backofenfest at the Lucke-Hof — as part of the Brandenburger Landpartie. From 1 PM to 6 PM, the centuries-old clay oven will be fired up: freshly baked farmhouse bread, yeast cake, and sweet specialties will come out of the oven all afternoon and be sold on-site. The bread is baked according to historical recipes, and the flour partly comes from regional mills in the Havelland.
The festival is more than just selling bread — it's a small journey back in time:
The farm is accessible not only during the Backofenfest. The association invites visitors to the "Offener Hof" (Open Farm, 10 AM–4 PM) on the first Saturday of each month. Other dates in 2026:
Premnitz is located on the west bank of the Havel River in the Havelland district, south of Rathenow and north of Brandenburg an der Havel. The town is primarily known for its industrial history (synthetic fibers, Reich research), but the rural surroundings of the Lucke-Hof showcase the original Havelland with meadows, canals, and farmsteads. The Westhavelland Nature Park begins right at its doorstep.
The Backofenfest at Lucke-Hof is part of the Brandenburger Landpartie 2026 and one of the most enjoyable dates in the Havelland event calendar. On Saturday, June 13, 2026, the Lucke-Hof e.V. association will open its four-sided farmstead, built in 1722.
