Four days of music and watersports on the Havel promenade
Premnitz is a town in the western Havelland region, notable for its unique location: the town stretches directly along the Havel riverbank and has a redesigned promenade with stages, playgrounds, and seating areas since the Bundesgartenschau 2015 (Federal Garden Show). The old Dachsbergfest was replaced in 2019 by the new Uferfest format, which puts this waterside location at its center. Today, the Uferfest is the most important Volksfest (public festival) in Premnitz and one of the liveliest summer events in the Havelland district.
The Uferfest traditionally spans four days on the last weekend of August — from Thursday evening to Sunday. Regional and national bands perform on two stages — the BUGA Stage on the former Federal Garden Show island and the Wasser Stage (Water Stage) directly at the harbor basin. In 2025, Premnitz celebrated a special edition, “650 Years of Premnitz” — a city anniversary celebration that expanded the festival concept to include a historical parade. In 2026, the festival returns to its classic format.
Premnitz is located on the edge of the Westhavelland Nature Park, one of Brandenburg's largest protected areas and internationally recognized as the Westhavelland Dark Sky Reserve. The unusually dark night sky quality, the nature conservation along the lower Havel, and the open lowland landscapes make the region a hidden gem for nature enthusiasts. Visitors coming for the Uferfest can hike or cycle through the nature park during the day — and enjoy the festival by the water in the evening.
The Uferfest Premnitz 2026 is expected to take place from August 27 to 30, 2026, on the Havel promenade. The organizer is the City of Premnitz. Official confirmation of the dates will be provided in early summer 2026.
In contrast to the special 2025 edition for the 650th city anniversary, the classic program returns in 2026: four days of music on two stages, sports, family activities, and a parade. Live bands like Die Dandys are regular guests.
Detailed program and artist confirmations to follow in early summer 2026 on the festival's Facebook page and at premnitz.de.
