Wiesenpark — Oschersleben's green heart
The Wiesenpark Oschersleben is one of those municipal gems that generations have grown up with: a spacious park along the Bode river with an animal enclosure, playground, festival meadow, and nature trail. Sheep, goats, ponies, and rabbits live here in species-appropriate conditions — and a few times a year, the park transforms into an event venue. The largest and most popular event is the Wiesenparkfest in September, organized by the volunteer Wiesenpark Association.
Family festival without fuss
Six hours of activities — from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — fill the park: Children can pet the animals, tinker at craft stations, go on pony rides, get their faces painted, or participate in hands-on activities around the animal enclosure. Adults can enjoy coffee and cake from the association's bake sale, bratwurst and drinks from the grill, browse information stands, or listen to live music on the small stage. Free admission, free parking, no problem with strollers.
Bode floodplain and Börde district
Oschersleben is located in the fertile Börde district, in the heart of the famous Magdeburger Börde — one of Germany's most productive agricultural landscapes. The Bode river meanders through the town and gives the Wiesenpark its special charm. The festival is deeply rooted in the local community: clubs, kindergartens, the animal park association, and committed residents put the program together. A true Bode floodplain festival with heart.
Accessible and sustainable
The Wiesenpark is completely accessible, parking is available free of charge, and dogs are welcome on a leash. The association emphasizes sustainable catering and uses the proceeds to support the ongoing care of the animal enclosure. If you are traveling in the state of Saxony-Anhalt in September and have a family, you should note the date.
