Three days of food truck variety between the market square and Halberstädter Straße — burgers, African cuisine, Asian specialties
In March, the StreetFood on Tour event transforms the city center of Oschersleben (Bode) into an international food truck village for three days. Around 30 food trucks are spread along Halberstädter Straße and across the Marktplatz (market square) of the Börde district town — bringing a culinary diversity to the Börde district that is otherwise rarely found this far north of Magdeburg.
The culinary offerings cover almost everything the street food world has to offer in 2026: juicy burgers, classic bratwurst variations, authentic African cuisine, South American specialties (Empanadas, Arepas, Choripán), Asian street foods (Bao Buns, Sushi Burritos, Pad Thai, Curry), various fries, and sweets (Crêpes, Donuts, Churros). Important: vegan, vegetarian, as well as gluten- and lactose-free options are explicitly included.
Beyond just the food, StreetFood on Tour offers a varied supporting program: live music on stage at the market square, activities for children, a wide range of drinks from craft beer and cocktails to mulled wine (it is still March, after all). This makes the festival a meeting point even for those without an appetite.
Oschersleben (Bode) is the district town of Börde in Saxony-Anhalt, located between Magdeburg (35 km northeast) and Halberstadt (25 km southwest). The town is regionally known primarily for the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, one of Germany's most important race tracks. StreetFood on Tour is among the major events used to revitalize the city center and attract visitors from the entire Börde region.
Colorful, international, family-friendly. While Magdeburg's street food festivals often take place the weekend before Easter, Oschersleben opens the season in early March — a welcome change at the end of winter. With free admission, public transport connections, and the high concentration of food trucks within a few hundred meters of the city center, the festival is particularly accessible.
The 2026 edition brings approx. 30 food trucks and a wide culinary selection to Oschersleben's city center. Open for three days, Friday to Sunday, with an accompanying supporting program of live music and children's activities.
The organizer is the City of Oschersleben (Bode) in cooperation with the StreetFood-on-Tour organization, which brings the format to several North German cities (including Wolfenbüttel and Magdeburg).
Selection of street food specialties: Burgers, African dishes, South American Empanadas and Arepas, Asian Bao Buns and Pad Thai, vegan and gluten-free options, sweet desserts. Live music and children's activities complement the offerings.
Oschersleben (Bode) is easily accessible by train from Magdeburg (RB approx. 30 min.) and Halberstadt (RB approx. 25 min.). From Oschersleben station, it's about a 10-minute walk to the city center. By car: A2 exit Marienborn or A36 exit Oschersleben.
Admission is free thanks to the support of the City of Oschersleben.
Friday 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Saturday 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Sunday 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Approx. 30 food trucks along Halberstädter Straße and on the Marktplatz. Payment is made directly at the trucks (often contactless). Seating and standing tables are distributed throughout the festival grounds.
