Every summer, the Volkstheater Rostock transforms the impressive Hall 207 on the grounds of the former Neptunwerft into an extraordinary venue for theatre, music, and culture. The distinctive forging hall from 1911 gives the Volkstheatersommer its unmistakable character. For several weeks, musicals featuring hits from past decades, philharmonic concerts, and crossover programs are presented, bringing the audience right into the industrial backdrop on the Warnow riverbank. For the tenth consecutive year, Volkstheater Rostock transforms Hall 207 of the former Neptunwerft into a summer venue. From early June to mid-September, musicals, philharmonic concerts, and crossover programs are presented – from "Millennium" and "The Addams Family" to the "Groove Symphony."

The tenth edition of the Volkstheatersommer runs in 2026 from early June to the end of September in Hall 207 on the grounds of the former Neptunwerft. The musical "Millennium," featuring hits from the late 1990s, kicks things off, followed by the 10th Philharmonic Concert with works by Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Mahler.

In July, the family musical "The Addams Family" is on the program, and from late August, the summer musical "The Time is Now" with hits from the early 2000s. A special evening is the "Groove Symphony," where Dapayk & Padberg merge club and classical music with the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock. The season concludes with the 1st Philharmonic Concert of the new season.
