About Binz & Friends
Binz & Friends — edition 2026
The 2026 Season at Kurhaussaal
The highlight of the 2026 Binz & Friends season is the performance by Mighty Oaks on November 21. The Berlin-based indie-folk trio, fronted by singer Ian Hooper, returns in 2026 to the full band format after two years of acoustic solo tours – with their complete lineup, a new album, and a program designed for live concerts. The set at Kurhaussaal Binz is scheduled for approximately 90 minutes without an intermission.
Mighty Oaks have played at festivals like Rock am Ring and Lollapalooza over the past 15 years and are known to a wide audience with songs like Brother and Just One Day. At Kurhaussaal Binz, audiences will experience the trio in a focused concert atmosphere – not a festival tent, but a traditional hall with a wooden floor and a high ceiling.

The Idea Behind Binz & Friends
While the summer months on Rügen are characterized by open-air concerts, beach events, and large stages, another concert series has established itself for the transitional months and late autumn: Binz & Friends. Organized by Binzer Bucht Tourismus GmbH, the format invites artists two to four times per season who perform well in an acoustically and atmospherically suitable hall – and this hall is the Kurhaussaal Binz, located directly on the beach promenade.
The Venue
The Kurhaussaal is part of the Kurhaus Binz, one of the most famous buildings of Binz's spa architecture (Schillerstraße 4). With its high ceiling, wooden parquet floor, and acoustics designed for classical and acoustic concerts, the hall is particularly suitable for indie-folk, singer-songwriter, jazz, and chamber-pop formats. Visibility from all seats is good, and the atmosphere is focused. After the concerts, the beach promenade invites a late stroll along the Baltic Sea.
How the Program is Curated
Binzer Bucht Tourismus selects the invited artists in consultation with experienced concert bookers. The aim is to book acts with national or international reach that are suitable for a more intimate concert format – not too large for the hall, not too small for the ambition. In recent years, the program has included singer-songwriters from Berlin and Hamburg, pop acts from the indie sector, and established Liedermacher (singer-songwriters).
Who's Coming This Year
In 2026, the headliner event is the performance by Mighty Oaks on November 21, as part of their tour for their new album. The Berlin-based indie-folk trio, fronted by Ian Hooper, has been active on major German festivals (Rock am Ring, Lollapalooza) and in the charts for almost 15 years; after two years of intimate acoustic shows, the band returns in 2026 with their full band lineup. For the Kurhaussaal Binz – with a set of approximately 90 minutes without an intermission – this is a special announcement.
