When it's called »O'zapft is«, the Rostocker Oktoberfest brings the Bavarian Wiesn to the Baltic Sea. In a large festival tent on the Haedge peninsula in the city harbor, guests celebrate with Maßkrug (liter beer mugs), Brezn (pretzels), and brass band music — against the maritime backdrop of shipyards and the Warnow river. Folk classics, Oberkrainer sound, lively polkas and waltzes alternate with party hits and current chart successes. Traditional costumes are available for rent if needed, and tables can be reserved for groups. A traditional event for all who want to combine Bavarian coziness with Hanseatic flair.
