Highlight of the year in Eggesin with parade, stage, and club life
The Randow-Festtage are a classic Mecklenburg-Vorpommern town festival – but with its own depth: They have been held since the late 1960s, making them one of the oldest continuously held town festivals in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The name refers to the river Randow, which flows east of Eggesin into the Uecker and gives the region its name: Uecker-Randow-Land.
The festival days span two to three days in early September. Program highlights include:
Unlike many other town festivals in the region, the program is largely organized by the Eggesin clubs themselves – sports, carnival, shooting, fishing clubs, the volunteer fire department, dance groups, the Bundeswehr partner company. This gives the festival its character, a mix of folk festival, club life, and local gathering.
Eggesin is located in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, not far from the Polish border and the Stettiner Haff. The town was a garrison town for decades and is now a residential and forestry location. The Randow-Festtage are the most important occasion of the year for the population – former soldiers, long-established families, newcomers from the surrounding rural areas – to come together for a common event. The 50th edition in 2016 was celebrated with a special ceremony.
The festival is organized by the town of Eggesin in cooperation with local clubs. The program is communicated via the municipal website eggesin.de and the Amt am Stettiner Haff.
The 59th edition of the Randow-Festtage 2026 is planned as the annual town festival of Eggesin and will traditionally be held on a weekend in early September on the Heidestraße festival grounds. The town of Eggesin and its clubs are organizing the festival together in their proven setup.
As in previous years, a multi-day program is expected: Children's Lantern Parade on Friday evening, Grand Parade of the Clubs on Saturday morning, fairy tale and family program in the afternoon, amusement rides and stalls on the festival grounds, concerts and DJ programs in the evening. The exact dates and detailed program for 2026 will be published in the summer on eggesin.de and the event portal of the Amt am Stettiner Haff.
The detailed program for the 59th Randow-Festtage 2026 will be officially published by the town of Eggesin in the summer of 2026. Based on previous years' experience, the following are fixed components:
Admission to the festival grounds is free. Amusement rides and individual evening events may incur admission fees or require tickets.
By car via the A20 (exit Friedland), then B109 or country roads to Eggesin. By train via Pasewalk and bus, or directly on the line to Eggesin. The festival grounds are centrally located on Heidestraße.
The festival days themselves are generally free. Separate tickets or prices may apply for individual evening concerts or amusement rides.
