Shooting Tradition in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss
The Rhein-Kreis Neuss is one of the core areas of the Lower Rhine shooting tradition. In 2026 alone, more than 80 Schützenfeste will take place here — a concentration that is rare throughout Germany. One of them: the festival of the St.-Peter-Schützenbruderschaft 1908 Allerheiligen e.V. in the Neuss district of Allerheiligen, which runs from Saturday, August 15th, to Tuesday, August 18th, 2026.
Program Structure
- Saturday, August 15th, 2026: Kick-off with festival tent opening, bird shooting, funfair, dance evening.
- Sunday, August 16th, 2026: Schützen service, parade, king's coronation, catering in the festival tent.
- Monday, August 17th, 2026: Citizens' bird shooting, family afternoon, festival tent program.
- Tuesday, August 18th, 2026 — Coronation Ball: The absolute highlight. 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Coronation Ball in the festival tent — the ceremonial handover of the royal title to the new king and queen. Afterwards, dancing and catering until late into the night.
The St.-Peter Brotherhood 1908
The St.-Peter-Schützenbruderschaft 1908 is Allerheiligen's oldest shooting fraternity and bears the name of the church's patron saint. The fraternity is integrated into the Neuss District Association, which coordinates the region's Schützenfeste and publishes a joint festival calendar. The accompanying music is provided, among others, by the Schützenkapelle Furth.
Neuss-Allerheiligen — the Southern District
Allerheiligen is a historically developed district in the southwestern part of Neuss in North Rhine-Westphalia. Neuss itself is the oldest city in Germany (founded by the Romans as Novaesium) and, with over 150,000 inhabitants, one of the most important cities in the Rhineland. The Schützenfest has a firm place in the district's life and is an occasion for family and club gatherings across generations.
Getting There
By train: Regional train to Neuss Hbf, then bus line 854 or 871 towards Allerheiligen. By car via the A57 (exit Neuss-West) or the B477. Parking is available on surrounding residential streets and in designated festival areas.
