City Festival and Fire Brigade Anniversary 2026

Lehrte, the easternmost city in the Hannover region and an important railway hub, combines its traditional family and city festival with a double club anniversary in 2026. The occasion is the founding dates of the Lehrte Volunteer Fire Brigade (150 years ago, 1876) and the Lehrte Youth Fire Brigade (75 years ago, 1951). Both institutions have shaped the city's safety and youth development for generations.

Program Structure

The organizer, the City of Lehrte, has structured the 2026 program as follows:

• Friday, May 29, 2026, from 6 PM – DJ Walter Nebel, followed by live band beat!t
• Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 11 AM – Family program, stands, children's area
• Saturday, 4 PM – Youth fire brigade demonstration exercise
• Saturday, from 8 PM – Concert Kai hat frei – Das Herrengedeck
• Sunday, May 31, 2026, until 6 PM – Family program and morning pint
• Sunday, 4 PM – Technical assistance demonstration by the youth fire brigade (demonstration exercise)

Fire Brigade as Festival Actor

The dual focus as a city festival and anniversary makes the Lehrte Fire Brigade an equal festival participant in 2026. Demonstration exercises showcase the technology, skills, and commitment of the volunteers, while an information booth explains the history of both institutions. The festival also serves as a recruitment event for young visitors.

City Center as Festival Stage

Lehrte's city center, with its market square, Marktstraße, and the area around the train station, offers a compact, easily accessible festival backdrop. Travel by train is particularly convenient thanks to Lehrte's status as a major railway hub.
